Indra Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary : ( Topslip )

Anamalai Tiger Sanctuary :

Indra Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary (formerly called Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary), widely known as Top Slip is located at about 37 km from Pollachi town.It is Separated from the Nilgiri Hills by the Palghat Gap on the north, Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary (Kerala) to its west and to the Eravikulam National Park (Kerala) and Chinnar WLS to its south.There are many places of natural and scenic beauty in the Anamalai wildlife sanctuary. Some of them are Grass hills, Karianshola, Anaikunthi Shola, groves, waterfalls, teak forests, reservoirs and dams.

Valparai
Valparai is a hill station in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu,India. It is located 3,500 feet above sea level on the Anaimalai Hills range of the Western Ghats, at a distance of 100 km from Coimbatore and 65 km from Parambikulam. There are 40 hairpin bends on the way to Valparai from Azhiyar. While major portions of the land is covered with tea estates. The people visit the valparai to witness the realistic great nature and the place of less pollution. Valparai is made of many dams, waterfalls, wildlife sanctuary near. A famous place of worship, Balaji Temple also attracts pilgrims and public.

Masaniamman Temple :Topslip Road, Anaimalai Village
Masani Amman Temple, often referred as Anaimalai Masani Amman Temple, is a highly revered shrine situated at Anaimalai,in Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu. The temple, nestled amid grassland interlaced with criss-cross pathways and rivulets against the backdrop of Anaimalai Hills, is about 20 km form Parambikulam. It is situated at the confluence of Aliyar River and the Uppar stream Anaimalai Masani Amman Temple enshrines Goddess Arulmigu Masani Amman as the presiding deity. The deity is seen in a lying posture measuring 15 ft from head to foot. Legend has it that during Lord Ram wanderings in search of Sita, he stayed in Anaimalai in a graveyard ,

 

Amaravathi Dam & Crocodile Park
Amaravathy dam across the river amaravathy is 25 Kms from Thirumoorthy Dam.There is a well laid-out park where one may climb the steep steps on the dam to have picturesque view north of the plains below and south to the Annamalai Hills and Palani Hills above. It is being developed as a district excursion center for tourism.The Amaravathy Sagar Crocodile Farm, established in 1975, the largest Crocodile nursery in India is nearby. Many Crocodiles of all sizes can be seen basking in the sun and suddenly making a stride or piled up on one another. Eggs are collected from wild nests along the perimeter of the reservoir to be hatched and reared at the Farm. Many adult crocodiles have been reintroduced from here into the wild.

 

Palani Temple
A major pilgrimage centre, Palani is situated on the edge of the great Vyapuri tank. Palani is a municipality in Dindigal district, located about 60 kms from Dindigal. This temple draws more than 7 million devotees every year to offer their prayers to Lord Muruga.Its hilltop Subrahmanyam temple is the most famous of the six abodes of Muruga, the son of Shiva, who is said to have come here disguised as a mendicant after quarreling over a fruit with his brother,Ganesha. Popularly known as Dandayutha Pani ("Bearer of the Staff"), Murugan is depicted with a clean shaven head, holding a stick. His image is made of medicinal herbs, mixed together to create a wax-like substance. During the Thaipoosam festival, the temple attracts thousands of pilgrims,many of whom shave their heads as an act of worship. An electric cable car takes devotees up the 600 steps to the hill shrine. Palani is also a base for hikes in the surrounding hills
